Template notice. This policy describes how errorboard is designed to work
and is provided as a starting point. Please have it reviewed by a qualified professional before
relying on it for your jurisdiction.
The short version
errorboard is built to see as little as possible. It captures only the apps and screens you
explicitly allow, stores your study logs on your own machine, and asks for an account only if you
subscribe to errorboard Pro.
What the app captures
- Only the foreground window of an app on your allow-list, and only when it sits
on a monitor you've chosen to watch.
- Screenshots of those windows, the moments a possible mistake is detected.
- It does not capture your full screen, log keystrokes, record audio, or track
which websites or apps you use outside the allow-list.
Where your data goes
- Free tier: screenshots are sent to the NVIDIA NIM endpoint you configure, using
your own API key, for the sole purpose of detecting mistakes. Your error logs are written as Word
documents in your local Documents folder. We do not receive or store them.
- errorboard Pro: to provide cloud detection and cross-device sync, screenshots are
processed by our hosted model and your error-log entries are stored in your account.
Account information
If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password. We never
store your password in plain text. Sessions are kept with a cookie that identifies your signed-in
browser.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled by Stripe.
We store a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status (plan and renewal date). We do
not see or store your full card number — Stripe handles card data directly.
Third parties we rely on
- NVIDIA — runs the vision model that analyzes screenshots.
- Stripe — processes payments and subscriptions.
- Cloudflare — hosts the website and account backend.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or third-party
tracking cookies.
Data retention & your choices
- Local error logs live on your machine until you delete the files.
- For Pro accounts, you can request export or deletion of your account data at any time.
- Cancelling your subscription stops future billing; you can then request deletion of stored
logs.
